THE FIFTH FUNDAMENTAL FORCE & GRAVITY

Continuing the concept that all identifiable entities - from galaxies to humans to atomic particles - are dissipative bodies ( GRAVITY MASS HIGGS AND BABIES ) that throughout their existence draw in and send out energy; and which at base are formed as nodes in the waves of the as-near-to-infinite electromagnetic field (light), the essential stuff of the universe; I am exploring how this idea maps onto what I know of the almost-eternal, almost indestructible proton.

Protons are deemed to have lifetimes of billions of billions of years. Far longer lives than the puny 13.82 billion light years age of our universe. Smashing protons together in cyclotrons such as at CERN, Geneva and analyzing the debris using ferociously complex mathematics, assumptions and physical Laws, indicates that the protons are made of 3 quarks (rhyme with corks) - 2 Up Quarks and 1 Down Quark (depending on which way up you are). Protons are electrically positive - stable, dependable and attractive. They are as near to the primary building blocks of matter as the ancient Greeks once did, and we do, imagine.

Most protons live at the centre of atoms, in the nucleus. Their positive charms and weight (mass /energy) are neatly counter balanced by equal numbers (often equal - sometimes not) of neutrons - which are electrically neutral - together with an outer cloud of negatively charged, almost but not quite mass-less electrons - which together balance the nucleus (nuclei are very difficult to break - hence "Nuclear" Bombs) and the whizzing nearly-speed-of-light electrons - to make an elemental atom - such as hydrogen, iron etc. (there are about 130 elements in the Periodic Table).

Neutrons are also made of 3 quarks, but, free neutrons, outside nuclei, only exist or live for 10 to 15 minutes; compare this to the proton's eternity. Maybe neutrons are a stage in the dissipative expulsion of mass from protons.

HOWEVER - We digress. Neutrons will be revisited another time.

We "see" all things - we detect their presence and learn about them - through their broadcasts. All phenomena (things) radio their presence to us via waves of the electromagnetic spectrum (light). "Real" matter; planets, chairs, humans, grass, trees, gas, water; is made of atoms which rely on "heavy" protons. Due to such broadcasts of energetic, coherent, identifiable, data-packed waves, we know that all phenomena are dynamic - they pulse, they change, they are not fixed and static. Matter is calculated to be 4.9% of the universe. Matter is what we are made of and what we relate to. The other 95.1% is made of allegedly mass-less light /radio waves and mysterious stuff we do not understand, dubbed Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

(NB - THESE BROADCASTS, THESE ELECTROMAGNETIC EXPANDING SPHERES, THESE CROSS-HATCHED, INTERPENETRATING, DATA-RICH, LEGIBLE, IDENTIFIABLE, DYNAMIC, TIME-PERSISTENT, ENERGETIC, "VISIBLE" SIGNALS OR WAVES - COMPRISE THE BASIC STUFF OF THE UNIVERSE. THEY ARE "SPACE-TIME". THEY ARE THE VICTORIAN SCIENTISTS' AETHER. WHERE THE SPHERES CROSS, WHICH IS EVERYWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE ON EVERY SCALE, WE DETECT PARTICLES WHICH ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THE FEATURES OF THE SPHERES. BY EXAMINING OR INTERFERING WITH ANY SUCH SPHERE, WE SIMULTANEOUSLY ALTER ALL THE PARTICLES DEPENDENT ON THAT SPHERE; AND EVERYTHING THE OBSERVED SPHERE RELATES TO.)

In terms of human existence - the universe is 95% empty space (though it is full of criss-crossing signals and energy - my Aether-Matrix LIFE-FORCE - AETHER-MATRIX ).

On this basis, protons are quite rare; they are a small part of the universe.

The protons in turn are of made of quarks - which are the most primary, the most indivisible, the most fundamental particles we yet know. So let's say quarks are the transition from "pure" energy (allegedly mass-less) to particles.

Weighing protons, it is found that the 3 quarks make up only 20% of the mass - 80% or more is missing; science ascribes this 80% to the energetic activity of the quarks on the basis that energy=mass (E=MC2). The quarks are dynamic. I think they are also dissipative.

So, completely stable, for billions and billions of years, detectable, measurable protons - being the majority of all matter - are made of dissipative, dynamic quarks. We detect the protons from their broadcasts. We isolate these pebble-like protons and fire them around cyclotrons. When they collide we find quarks. It is the quarks, I suspect, that continually receive and convert energy - the energy that protons and ultimately atoms broadcast to alert us to their existence (exist = stand out).

It is inarguable that atoms do broadcast signals - and yet might remain unchanged for millions or billions of years. What intrigues me is how the atoms - their constituent quarks - obtain or capture that energy to give them and maintain identity and to broadcast their presence. I think they wind it in from the field. (See Expansion is Gravity). If so, the quarks are at all times connected to the field and receive or commandeer the energy they require - and ultimately dissipate. They capture electromagnetic waves (light) and use it to build and maintain identity and to broadcast. In that sense, quarks are at the nodes of energy/ light waves and reach out into the field - which being a field, fills the universe - connecting all quarks via the field to all other quarks.

I have not quite captured the concept I started to set down here. More thought and inspiration needed.

EACH PERSON SHOULD BE THE MULTIPLE OF HEIGHT X LENGTH X BREADTH X WEIGHT X PROCESSED-ENERGY X RETAINED-ENERGY X TIME X UNIQUE PATTERN. THE UNIQUE PATTERN IS CURRENTLY BELIEVED TO BE DICTATED BY OUR DNA. I THINK OUR DNA IS IN TURN DICTATED BY OUR UNIQUE ELECTROMAGNETIC PATTERN - HELD IN THE AETHER-MATRIX. SO, SEEING US AS TIME-PERSISTENT ENERGY "TUBES", WHERE DO WE BEGIN AND WHERE DO WE END? IS THERE A CORRELATION OR AN ENERGY QUOTIENT THAT COULD DRAW A COMPARISON BETWEEN OUR ENERGY-EXISTENCE AND, SAY, THE ENERGY-EXISTENCE OF A PROTON? IS THERE AN INTEGRATIVE IDENTITY PATTERN FOR EACH AND EVERY PHENOMENAL EXISTENT, OVER TIME. IS THE INTEGRATIVE LIFEFORCE THE FIFTH FORCE, RANKING EQUALLY WITH THE FOUR FUNDAMENTAL FORCES?)

These connections between energetic nodes remind me of the connections between brain cells. I am also reminded by the concept of broadcasts - outwards from an energetic event, of Einstein's gravitational waves gradient where dimensions shrink exponentially as an object falls and accelerates through the gradients to, for example, a planet or star.

22 DEC 13 - I think primary particles might be formed as the successive horizons of the spherical expanding universe, "pure" energy expanding at light speed, or the waves of the electromagnetic spectrum (light for short) expanding (in 3 dimensions; think of being submerged), encounter the "edge" of the universe and thus the unimaginable non-space-non-time beyond and - being some-thing rather than no-thing the light waves cohere with themselves (do NOT expand limitlessly at infinite speed) and pause as they are drawn back by momentary partial vacuums in the "material energy field" behind. The drawing back creates the vibration and waves we know as the speed of light. The turbulence caused by this drawing back and expanding forwards, in an ever expanding universe, creates complex 3 dimensional sheets or currents in the light-field. These vast ephemeral field currents act in a similar fashion to deep water (3 dimensional) currents. Where currents collide, vortices form - initially almost undectable but as they rotate (in an expanding field), the currents draw in more field energy and the "dancers' arms" system operates - thus the rotation accelerates, drawing in more energy (in an almost infinitely energetic light-field). There is no-thing to slow the rotation, which accelerates until a critical threshold is reached when what we recognize as a "surface" forms - an event horizon caused by expansion and rotation (pre-gravity) and inside the event horizon a primary particle is formed. It needs no "seed" around which to form, other than the minuscule ephemeral partial temporary (but persistent) "vacuum" of (proven) Hubble expansion. Thus a particle, perhaps a quark, is formed. It rotates at C Squared and continuously winds in energy from a wide sphere E=MC2). So, we have a primary particle that spins straw into gold - But how does it dissipate?? - Next. Perhaps.

25 DEC 13 - The dissipation, the outflow of energy, is evident from the fact that we detect such primary particles (this applies to the smallest detectable particles upwards) and from the fact that such particles interact or communicate with their surroundings. This requires energy to be emitted by the entity.

My guess is that all entities, from quarks to long lived protons to short lived humans, to stars are dissipative; existing, and manifesting identity, in a stream of energy. All are works-in-progress and all are dynamic. Particle physicists have "seen" or infer from cyclotrons that a proton is formed from 3 quarks - that somehow, we know not how, the combination of 3 quarks confers a half-life of billions of years on (on average on a collection of) protons. This immense inertia; this intent to survive with identity is not understood - or even addressed. However - when defining and analyzing phenomena of any size, science might include the lifelong-dissipative-stream of energy which the entities organize. Thus a person is say, six feet tall, mostly water and carbon, with an occasionally engaged brain, plus a continuous stream of about 50 tonnes of food, liquids, gases and electromagnetic energy - that maintains their identity for, say, 80 years. The organization of the stream of energy is also a mystery; I call it the Lifeforce and rank it with the fundamental forces as the fifth force. I guess that the patterns, the templates for the diverse forms of existence are imprinted in the electromagnetic field and are ever changing - they are dynamic. Every detectable action and interaction broadcasts across the universal field, my Aether-Matrix - which is thus in-formed and re-formed. If a "thing" did not broadcast its presence - we could not detect it.

So - every entity, from proton to human, exists for what seems to us to be a finite lifetime, during which time it has identity. We can name it. Does the identifieable-lifelong-dissipative-stream of organised energy equate to the multi-dimensions discovered by mathematicians in their equations?

I am summoned to enjoin and enjoy Christmas day. Hubble expansion is still Gravity and as we have not found any centre for the universe - as Fred Hoyle once maintained, the single Big Bang remains a question not a fact. Happy Christmas.

WE KNOW FROM NEWTON AND OUR CALCULATIONS FOR SPACE FLIGHTS THAT THIS FLOW TAKES ALL THE IN-FALLING ENERGY TO (PERHAPS THROUGH) THE CENTRE OF THE OBJECT. THIS IMPLIES A SINK HOLE AT THE CENTRE THAT CHANNELS THE ENERGY AND CONNECTS TO THE EXTERIOR (WHERE WE DETECT THE BROADCAST AND THUS RECOGNIZE THAT SOMETHING IS THERE). TO PURSUE THIS IDEA, WE COULD FOR EXAMPLE USE THE CALCULATIONS OF WHAT FALLS INTO THE SUN AND WHAT THE SUN DISCARDS - WHILE RETAINING ITS DYNAMIC IDENTITY - OVER TIME (FROM THE FIRST CONGREGATION OF SAY A COUPLE OF HYDROGEN ATOMS TO THE FINAL DISPERSAL OF ALL THE SUN'S ENERGY). I DO NOT IMAGINE THAT WE NEED TO INVOKE OTHER UNIVERSES OR OTHER EXOTIC CREATIONS TO TRACK THIS FLOW. WE DO NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHERE THE UNIQUE BLUEPRINT OR PATTERN OR IDENTITY FOR AN OBJECT IS HELD AND HOW IT IS INVOKED, WHILE ALL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN-FORM AND RE-FORM THE ENTIRE AETHER-MATRIX).

BUT AT THIS CENTRE OF GRAVITY IS THERE A BALANCED WEIGHTLESS ZONE WHERE ALL THE MASS OF THE SURROUNDING PLANET IS EVENLY DISTRIBUTED "ABOVE" YOU? AND THUS WILL THE MASS EXERT AN UPWARD PULL ON YOU? Space-Time - 16 January 2014 - Stuart Clark, Warning Light, page 31, New Scientist, 4 Jan 2014, ponders the make up of space-time. I think it is the Aether-Matrix, which is or are spheres of all sizes from the Planck minimum to the Observable Universe, each structured by a unique rendition of all the signals in the universe; signals small enough to register in that size of sphere. Imagine the first such signal was a single bland wavelength of light, the potential electromagnetic spectrum, expanding from the Big-Bang into the pre-universe "No-Thing". This single type of light was Space-Time. It developed complexity (as I've described elsewhere) and matter (as I've set out elsewhere - Straw into Gold). These complex diverse phenomena made their existence known by broadcasting signals - now in various wavelengths and strengths.

Proof? Wherever we set up an observatory anywhere in the universe, from a single eyeball to infra-red radar microwave arrays, the observatories see the entire universe, drawn by cross-hatched wavelengths from all the phenomena. With sufficiently sensitive instruments, in every such sphere we can "see" or detect immense galaxies on the horizon of the universe down to mobile phone messages. All these broadcasts are detectable, decipherable and coherent in all the imaginable spheres - and each set is unique, due to scale and angles of observation. These immensely complex and robust light waves are, I think, Space-Time. They are the essential "stuff of the universe" from which, in which and upon which all matter and information bestrides the firmament. The universe is made of light which manifests in every possible form, including the Aether-Matrix which supports or builds gravity and inertia.

The Event Horizon concept was partly created, along with the Big Bang, by Prof. Fred Hoyle, after he reneged on his stoutly defended idea of particles of matter constantly emerging in every part of the universe. Is Prof Stephen Hawking now, at last, seeing The Light and will Fred Hoyle's coherent shade, now and forever after wandering the electromagnetic field, recant his recantation and allow science to free itself from the intellectual constraints imposed by the reductionist logic of The Big Bang?

FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES

Shock - Horror - OMG! Banks rip off their customers and steal their businesses.

This week's news that two Official Reports find that the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) sets up business customers to fail by imposing "complex" (complex = crooked) incomprehensible "Interest Rate Swap" agreements on loans; then pushes the business into bankruptcy; then sells their prime assets at knockdown prices to a disguised RBS subsidiary; would be shocking if it had not been UK banking practice since the beginning of time.

I suppose it is doubly shocking because RBS was bailed out by HM Government in the 2008/09 banking crash, which "lost" The City of London and Wall Street (in fact lost taxpayers) about $3 trillion (8 million jobs for ten years) - leaving RBS 80% owned by the British taxpayers.

It may be trebly shocking because the British Government (currently the Tory Trust Fund Babes and Liberal Democrat Private School - Alliance), as majority shareholder in RBS and in Lloyds Bank; banks which service 50% of the UK's SME's (small and medium sized enterprises); SMEs which in turn employ 60% of the UK workforce - have set targets for increased lending and support by RBS and Lloyds. Targets which are being ignored by the bankers - and in fact reversed, as RBS sees SME's as easy meat which it can isolate, destroy and consume - without reprisals.

So, it isn't surprising that Mark Carney, the new Governor of The Bank of England, is deeply concerned. But it isn't really news at all; because it isn't new. But the scurrilous, gutter practices may have, almost certainly have, increased ten or twenty fold in 30 years (since monetarist, Big-Bang, filthy rich, Thatcher). MARK CARNEY - MONEY-WARS

The rip-off system relies on having friends in low places, in dark dismal corners of disgrace, where decent people do not look. It works like this:

...Most SME's are essentially funded by and guaranteed by owner/managers; and need strong bankers to provide liquidity for survival and growth - for most of the lifetime of the business. The better the business, the more it is a beacon in the darkness that attracts financial sewer rats, maggots and diseased parasites. The crooks fit-up the business with unserviceable loans, tighten the screws, send in their pals to "rescue" the business - bent accountants, lawyers, non-exec directors, consultants and "experts" who gouge out monthly fees - often doubling the so called financing costs. The business is forced into liquidation with the bank as the major secured creditor; the accountants and lawyers reveal their true identities as (government licensed) official Liquidators.

The owners are brow beaten into ignominious personal bankruptcy; are exhausted, strangled with red tape* and unable to fight back. All polite people walk away on the other side of the street. The (bank's) Liquidators fix all the creditors meetings - and push their more controversial scams through The Courts, where they have more co-conspirators (friends in low places) - and rapidly sell off all the valuable assets to the bank or other conspirators - all the while extracting large fees for themselves. When everything has gone - they disappear.

* The UK's Companies Act is the longest, most complex law ever written. A cornucopia for bent lawyers.

Such scams in the past, were most often triggered - in the UK - by tax debts. More than 50% of all SME liquidations were forced by government tax collectors - who had and probably still have the same sorts of friends in low places - in the recovery units in banks - with dirty raincoat Liquidators - in the Court Houses - among Court Bailiffs. We had such a case last year where a profitable small hotel was forced by tax-collectors who "lost" all the payments the hotel made (credited to the wrong account), into a fixed, high speed, knock-down price auction by the tax-collector's liquidator. The hotel owner's father, a skilled and determined colleague of mine, had the whole 2 year's tragedy reversed, got the hotel back from the conspirators and won substantial compensation from HM Tax Collectors. A one in a million success and triumph for honesty. Do not try this at home.

The losses and costs are borne by the owner-managers who are generally ruined; by the firms' trade creditors and suppliers and by the redundant workforce. The banks, accountants, lawyers, auctioneers etc. make fortunes - from the years of hard work and risk taking of the owners.

Best advice - Never do business with a firm where the executives gouge out millions for themselves - they have become habituated greedy crooks - and will screw you. Read the loan /derivatives contract; if you don't understand it, it is crooked. Split up your banking so no single bank can salivate over your profits - don't let them easily see your success; and like all successful SME owners - be deeply paranoid - trust no-one; they are out to get you - and they do have friends in low places.

LOAN-SHARKS IN THE TIME OF COVID-19

HM GOV is attempting to con the small business community to shoulder the entire bill for the Coronavirus national shutdown.

They are pushing "loans" to small businesses whose incomes have ceased. Most have no income or sales at all; but HM Gov wants them to continue paying wages and salaries and all their overheads. They employ 60% of the workforce. 800,000 firms are forecast to go bust this month.

With no end in sight - incomes and sales frozen for months or years - the owners are expected to borrow heavily and guarantee - YES GUARANTEE - repayment of the loans. Some banks are charging 30% - Yes thirty-bloody-percent on the loans. Loan-Sharking. THINK HOW THEY ARE LOAN-SHARKING THE STUDENT-LOANS.

The owners are not however as daft as they look. Many might have stupidly voted for Brexit which will alone bankrupt the UK, but the firms have only applied for 0.04% of the supposedly available Loan Guarantee Funds. Nobody knows when business will re-start. DO NOT sign any guarantees.

In 1979, I guaranteed and put our home behind a large business overdraft (for 50 employees) just before Thatcher went to war against the Unions - hiking the Base Rate up to 16%, bankrupting 60,000 small business, soaking up all liquidity - and stopping trade completely. It took me 15 years of penury to pay-off, harried daily by bailiff's, debt-collectors, receivers, and assorted thugs employed by the banks.

I was particularly resilient. Most don't have such stubborn stamina. Suicide is preferable to deep, grinding, inescapable debt. Don't sign. Let the business go bust - and walk away. Start again.

BBC 3rd April 2020 "The government has pledged to guarantee £330bn of loans but only £145m (0.04%) has been lent so far.

Small firms say they have struggled with onerous eligibility criteria for the government-backed loans, which are being issued by High Street banks and other lenders.

They have also complained of facing interest rates of up to 30% and being asked to make unreasonable personal guarantees."

For Christmas 2013, George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer for the UK Tory Party (the nasty party) is mumbling about capping UK pay-day loan sharks, sometime – perhaps - maybe - never.

As the super-rich of the UK have sold-off (monetized) all our industries and much of our property and infrastructure and gouged out all the cash and capital to tax-havens, which are now desperate to anonymously lend it (safely invest it) back at usurious rates, this country has only a single “commercial” activity left – money-lending.

To protect and maximize this lone last gasp “industry” of a nation that was once the world’s industrial and trading power house, UK government, courts, police, bailiffs, bully-boys, prisons, enforcers and Ministers of The Crown, vigorously support all money lenders in charging the world’s highest official rates to impoverished citizens. Great Britain has escalated and inflated the price of money; accompanied by an astonishing example of Double-Speak and Double-Think. It is the most brass-necked example of being “economical with the truth” or in plain language, lying and deception.

While the Bank of England Base Rate sticks at the historic low 0.5% (half of one percent) for loans to banks and financial institutions, recognizing the rivers of tax-evading cash offshore – the banks in turn charge customers from 4.5% (nine times) to 5,000% (ten thousand times). The UK rule is that the richest and strongest can borrow at 3% to 5%; the poorest and weakest pay from 16% to 36% on credit cards and from 800% to 5,000% on pay-day loans. We pay the poor less than the official, Scrooge like “Living Wage”; so they HAVE to borrow monthly from our loan-sharking pals (as seen on TV). Let’s all enjoy permanently bullying the poor and weak!

Since Thatcher’s Big Bang in the mid 1980’s – based on Milton Freidman’s crazy sociopathic theories of Monetarism and the allegedly “Free Markets”, which are in fact all global cartels ripping off captive customers – the price of money has soared. This is a prime example of a vast surplus ($32 trillion offshore) being rationed to push up world prices. Money is not subject to market forces. Pre-Thatcher and Freidman, all UK loan rates above 30% were treated by British courts as usury – “contracts illegal as formed” and the loan-sharks (journeymen, back-street lenders) were imprisoned.

IF – IF – the price of money was capped at, say, 5% (ten times base, 90% profit) it would not only free hundreds of thousands of families from being oppressed by debt, it would eliminate most bad-debts and save hundreds of millions in enforcement costs. And it would reduce the cost of each stage of the production /service chain – typically 10 stages from farms and mines to consumption – and reduce most prices by 25%. It would beat inflation. The very worst, most damaging inflation is that driven by unearned income; such as interest charges.

Will Osborne and his nasty party deliver low interest to customers? Can the UK wean itself off loan-sharking, tax-evasion and bullying the weak – and invest its vast tax-haven hoards into manufacturing, infrastructure, science, industry, training and justice? Almost certainly not.

Wait for the Double-Speak, speaking with forked tongue, and the continuing elevation of the loan-sharks.

If you are among the world’s 2.1 billion Christians, or 1.5 billion Mohammedans, or 900 million Hindus, 376 million Buddhists, 23 million Sikhs, 14 million Jews; 5 million Freemasons or belong to other religious and ethical communities; you will know that your organisation outlaws sinful usury. Now is the time to stand up and be counted. A 5% cap is a good target.

In Kenya, a Victory for Girls and Rights

There was something deliciously serendipitous about the power going off in northern Kenya on May 27 just as Judge J.A. Makau read his much-anticipated decision in a case could alter the status of women and girls in Kenya and maybe all of Africa.

But the lights did come on. And the judge in the high court in Meru declared: “By failing to enforce existing defilement laws, the police have contributed to the development of a culture of tolerance for pervasive sexual violence against girl children and impunity.”

Guilty.

An extraordinary story of tenacity and courage, wit and survival led to this victory.

Three years earlier, 160 girls between the ages of 3 and 17 sued the Kenyan government for failing to protect them from being raped. Now they’d made legal history: Through a constitutional challenge — holding the state accountable for the police treatment of defilement claims — the girls secured access to justice for themselves, and legal protection from rape for all 10 million girls in Kenya.

A child is raped every 30 minutes in Kenya. One of the reasons is the demented thinking of thousands of men in sub-Saharan Africa who believe that having sex with a little girl will cure you of H.I.V. and AIDS. In fact, the belief is that the younger the girl is, the stronger the cure will be.

Although there are adequate laws in the Kenyan criminal code to protect girls from what Kenyans call defilement, there is almost total impunity for the perpetrators. The laws are not enforced and the practice of defilement has been on the rise.

Ninety percent of the victims have been raped by people they know — fathers, uncles, brothers, neighbors, teachers, priests — the very people assigned the task of keeping children safe.

If the girl doesn’t die of her injuries, she faces being abandoned. No one wants to have anything to do with a defiled girl. She loses her chance to go to school. She’s likely sick with a sexually transmitted disease or H.I.V. She may be pregnant. Her childhood is over. She becomes poor, unhealthy and destitute.

It took the courage and tenacity of 160 girls to take on a system that failed them. On Oct. 11, when the case went to court in Meru, their lawyers marched through the streets from the shelter where the girls had been staying to the courthouse. The girls wanted to march as well but were told that their identity needed to be protected and that they must stay at the shelter. Nothing doing, they said. They marched beside their advocates chanting, “Haki yangu” — the Kiswahili words for “I demand my rights.”

The guards at the courthouse slammed the gates shut as the girls approached. But they climbed the fence still chanting “Haki yangu” and then started to laugh at the reversal in roles being played out in front of them.

“Look,” they called to each other. “These men who hurt us and made us ashamed are scared of us now!” Soon the gates were opened and the girls and their lawyers entered the court.

The case actually began when lawyers from Kenya, Malawi, Ghana and Canada got together at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and their discussion turned to the alarming rise in rape in Kenya.

Canadian women had sued their government for failing to protect them and had won. The African women asked them how they achieved their victory, and when the Canadians explained the force of a constitutional challenge, they decided to go forward together.

The action was the brainchild of Fiona Sampson, a Canadian who runs an organization called the Equality Effect that uses international human rights law to improve the lives of girls and women. She teamed up with Mercy Chidi, director of a shelter in Meru called Ripples International. Together they knew it was time to tackle the problem: the impunity of rapists and the failure of the justice system to convict them.

The journey these children have taken is about girls daring to break taboos and speak out about sexual assault. It’s about women lawyers from two sides of the world supporting youngsters in their quest for justice. It’s about kids who were told they had no rights but insisted that they do. And it’s the pushback reaction that women and girls everywhere have been waiting for.

Within 48 hours of the court decision, Fiona Sampson had heard from people in half a dozen countries who want to undertake the same action. It’s as though the centuries-old jig is up.

The downgrade process

Follow these steps to downgrade to a previous version of Windows or Windows Server software:

1. Obtain genuine Windows media and a corresponding product key for the version of Windows that is eligible for downgrade.

o The media should come from a prior legally licensed version from the OEM or Retail channels.

o End users who are licensed separately through Microsoft Volume Licensing (VL) may provide their VL media and key to a system builder to facilitate the downgrade on their own systems.

2. Insert the downgrade-eligible version of Windows media in the CD drive and follow the installation instructions.

3. Type the product key.

o If the software was previously activated, you will not be able to activate it online. In this case, the appropriate local Activation Support phone number will be displayed. Call the number and explain the circumstances. When it is determined that the end user has an eligible Windows licence, the customer service representative will provide a single-use activation code to activate the software. Please note that Microsoft does not provide a full product key in this scenario.

4. Activate the software.
