TAX HAVENS WRECK GLOBAL ECONOMY

PARALYZED UK PARLIAMENT
ARE ALL OECD GOVERNORS OFFSHORE?
It really, really, really is time  that governments recovered all tax-haven assets and re-booted the global economy. Why the hell won't they do it? Are ALL government officers and elected representatives bent? Are they all off-shore, imposing austerity on their homelands? The articles below are self explanatory. Read them and forward to your politicians with the message "ACTION THIS DAY". We, The People, are bored by and angry at government inaction and indecision. No wonder nobody wants to vote.

From : Noel Hodson to Christian Aid and other tax reformers in Europe. 12 JUNE 2014

Hello Eurodad members

You might like to read this article on The Seychelles from the ICIJ, which is the group of journalists that published 130,000 British Virgin Island accounts, revealed in 2013 by Edward Snowden. There can be little doubt that all such transactions have been tracked and recorded for ten years or more by national spy agencies. Why won't tax authorities recover the offshore assets?

12 JUNE 2014

ACTION THIS DAY:
Your article on Apple, Fiat and Starbucks paying 1% tax; in Apple's case on $22bn profits thus depriving national treasuries of $6bn in tax, misses the far larger loss of tax-avoidance-capital-flight where the whole $22bn profit is siphoned out and frozen offshore. (EU regulators to investigate special tax deals struck by big multinational firms - 12 JUN 14).  It is this frozen liquidity, taken from our High Streets to tax-havens and not re-invested, that is directly causing 50% unemployment among youngsters. Capital is on strike.
All OECD tax collectors have existing legal rights to reopen past assessments, as they do in all domestic back-tax cases, cite "Mistake & Error" to rescind any soft deals done by previous tax officers; and retrospectively apply the four cardinal tests to tax deductible claims and IP transfer valuations in their local jurisdictions (1) Arms Length (2) Commercial Terms (3) Not Tax Avoidance (4) Wholly Nec
essary. As in all domestic cases, the tax collectors could claim the tax, plus compound interest, plus penalties - which usually amounts to the whole profit - e.g. $22bn. Such action to recover tax-haven assets would repay all national fiscal deficits and re-boot the global economy.  Who in government is vetoing this remedy?

Please support Inspiraction’s (Christian Aid’s sister organisation in Spain) campaign to get Fifa to stop giving tax breaks to the companies that sponsor the World Cup.  FIFA, football’s governing body, has imposed conditions on Brazil as hosts of the World Cup, which grant huge tax breaks to the World Cup Sponsors. This mean Brazilians will lose €200 million that could otherwise help end lift millions of Brazilians out of poverty. This lost tax monies could help improve basic public services like healthcare, education and sanitation.  And it’s the poorest people who suffer the most.
Mr Joseph S. Blatter, president of FIFA, can be an example and demonstrate that the game can be played differently. Ask Mr Blatter to give tax breaks for the World Cup sponsors the red card, and never impose these rules on World Cup host countries in the future.
Please spread the word.
